How do you feel about the Steem blockchain in general?
How do you feel about the Steem blockchain in general?
Get ready to open a can of worms!
In my last blog post, I mentioned about how I was starting to feel the drag when it comes to Steem. Of course, everyone's mileage may vary. Some people love this place. Some others...not so much. There are some rather depressing comments coming from those disillusioned with the platform.
That is besides the point.
This poll will ask you to choose a number between 1 to 10. The number 1 will denote immense dissatisfaction with the Steem blockchain. The number 10 will convey your overwhelming joy with this place.
If you feel like, you are welcome to elaborate on your choice, though it is optional. There are no supposed right or wrong answers.
Drama is not expected to happen on this survey. I am looking into others' perception of the place.
It will be open for 30 days.
Once again, on a scale from 1 to 10, how do you feel about Steem in general?

Answer the question at dpoll.xyz.
I have lost almost all hope.
You aren’t the only one.

After a year, boredom is starting to set in. Seeing the same posts of no interest. Actifit, steemhunt, drugwars, these posts add zero value to me.
Then there's the same circle who have been in charge over the last 3 years. There is no reasonable basis to expect different outcomes when we continue to have the same input.
Finally, when the crypto market picks up, it won't take long for someone to create something better.
I'm all for dapps flourishing in the ecosystem, but they are starting to become rather spammy.
I wish they had better ways to reward their users. Too bad SMTs never came to fruition. To be frank, I don't even know if anyone else wants to attempt social media on the blockchain again.
Creating a decentralised Social Media platform is a good idea. But steem is becoming the anti-social centralised blockchain. Both in its design and it's stake holding.
Others will try it and will succeed, it's inevitable
Most people are not going to care about the "centralized" part.
I would say being "anti-social" is the bigger problem.
Without decentralisation we are back to trusting a central group/body/company. Might as well stick the whole thing on Amazon Web Servers and make the user experience smoother in that case.
Well, I’m pretty sure most people came here due to speculation, and not some ideals about future of banking, decentralisation and all that.

My hope is the only thing keeping it up at a 3 to be honest, the slow development of the chain, the numerous fuck ups when something does get done.
It feels like nothing has happened for a year and no progress is being made.
As for price, I firmly believe it will rise whether Steem is a success or not, even if its just to pump and dump from BTC.
Aside from the doom and gloom, Steem really could be something if something was being done.
Depressing, but true.

The only thing that keeps this number a 9 vs 10 for me is the general consensus that all real issues that are brought up between users and about users are diminished with the "drama" label. Drama is a school subject, not the category for human interaction.
So why do I feel it's a 9? Simple: I diversify the type of shit I do here. Right now I can jump between a dozen tasks all due yesterday. I've done everything from competitions to anti-abuse to how-to blogging to witnessing here. Only thing I haven't done was videos because let's face it, no one wants to see renovations in real time. I've also done a lot of fucking up and I'm over that. The key to enjoying it is to just accept people for who they are, getting to know them, and stepping away when it really starts getting under your skin. Step off and have a beer, then come back the next day.
It is a sound advice. Although, I still think 9 is a bit high.
It's mind over facts.
Full of filthy pirates.
Ain’t that the truth?
We are doing ok, just a few more hurdles and we will be right back where we were 3 years ago,...
That's assuming they know how to jump.
Nobody says we can clear them.
Not when folks are actively trying to trip us with them

Right now I'm just neutral. I still visit steemit everyday to quickly skim my feed, but nowadays I only rarely comment or post.
Yeah, I've noticed that I am starting to behave like that too.

Trying to block abuse and prevent reward pool rape is a lot of drama.
None of it pays enough. Not sure what I’m doing wrong.
Having said all that it’s probably the best place for various types of artists to receive compensation for their work. If I compare it to Wordpress the interaction is better here.
Wordpress pays nothing. Facebook pays nothing. I Instagram pays nothing.
Well, if you look at the net total, I suppose it isn’t so bad.
But dang, it just feels bad.
