What the duck is BDSM?

There's the go to response to this:

D- Dominance/Discipline
S- Submission/Sadism
M- Masochism

Or, the vanilla response:

The answer to this question ranges from person to person. The overall perspective, be it positive or negative, is that BDSM is crazy extreme bedroom acts. Not being untrue, boxing BDSM (or any sexual anything) in such way is like saying that the hottest Mexican spices as a marinate on dog meat is food. I wouldn't eat either of the two, but I eat food.

Yes, BDSM can get pretty "crazy" but it isn't all extreme. Let me list some examples of the lesser "crazy" on the spectrum:

• Blindfolds
• Handcuffs
• Sex on a beach
• Costumes ie: French Maid
• Hair pulling
• Speaking
• Body part fetishes
• Playful wrestling
• Scratching and biting

As you can see, one does not need to be extreme to be into BDSM, nor do they need to be in the 'M' to enjoy the 'B'.

Extremists most definitely appear to define the kink realm because they tend to be "louder" about their pleasure. If you get turned on by the thought of sex in the woods, you are one of us.
