Brann - step by step
Sometimes, with drawing, it happens that... you just fail.
You try, then something is not good, you don't see what, you don't understand why you don't see what, then you re-try, it's still not good but you still don't see the reason, you look your drawing into a mirror, from far away, everything, you re-re-try... and at some point you can't even judge yourself anymore and then you say "what the hell, let's go with that !".
And at the end, when you see everything finished, well... it's still not good, but all of a sudden it seems so obvious why !
That's the story of this following drawing. It's obvious : mostly, the head is too much bigger compared to the body. Simple, obvious, and yet I struggled so long without seing it (you can see lots of remains of eraser on the paper... ^^) !
Now I'm drawing again the charachter to get a better illustration for the story, and with comparison I think you will see easely how it was obvious.
The big lesson, here, is that the most important is not all the special effects you can get with colors and techniques, but the eye and the sense of proportions and of volumes !
Ok, next one seems already better... ^^

Thanks a lot to all the @helpiecake curation team !
I can see what you mean by the anatomy commentaries you made about the piece, @djacbaweur ! And like you said, the new attempt looks so much better already even at the sketch stage :D You are really a dedicated person, with an admirable sense of commitment to your arts <3
The background is wonderfully put together, though, and I will wait to see the new piece coloured!
Thank you veryspider ! I just finished the new drawing, so the final result will be there very soon ^^
