Drawing: Hair study in charcoal
Here's a quick hair study in charcoal.
I saw this photo by @ericoliveira the other day and he was kind enough to allow me to do a drawing.
I just wanted to focus on sketching her hair, i like the way it flowed down around her face, it has a beautiful weight and balance.
It was a fun little practise.

Nice work, the values are great and I love the intricate strands. I'd be interested to see your process sketching hair like this using charcoal.
The best advice is - when drawing hair, don't draw hair.
Draw flow of mass, so dark areas, lighter areas. Little strands, darker strokes or erasure marks are the last touches and thats when it becomes hair.
As a viewer we don't need all the information, just the suggestion. We don't need every strand depicted, our brains will understand what we are looking at with a lot less information.
I'll do a more extensive post on drawing hair if it would be of use to followers.
