Fairy tales

in #drawing8 years ago

Digging through some old files on my backup drive, I found this fairy tale I wrote some years ago when I was learning Norwegian language. I know it is not ideal (grammar and stuff), but I wanted to share anyway and also added English version and my bear drawing. It is fun to look back at the older works for some spark of creative energy.

Men ingenting hjalp. Men noe magisk skjedde.

Once upon a time there was a peasant. He was old and his wife had died many years ago, but he was not alone. Peasant had a beautiful daughter. She had long golden hair and blue eyes. Everywhere she went, she sang beautifully and work was never too hard for her.

She used to go to rocky river close to their home to wash clothes white. One day she was singing and washing clothes as usual, but all of a sudden huge, brown bear appeared by the river. Peasant girl was scared and screamed for help. The Old peasant came and scared the bear away.

After some time peasant girl picked blueberries and cloudberries in the nearby forest. She heard sad cries of an animal. She looked around and found a huge trap. In the trap was the bear she saw by the river. Bear was hurt and was dying. Peasant girl felt very sad. Maybe bear just wanted to catch some fish in the river that morning.

She tried to feed berries to the bear in hopes it would get better, but nothing helped. She sat by the trap and sang. Huge tiers fell down her cheeks. That is when something magical happened. Bear was gone, but beautiful king’s son appeared. He then told her that evil witch had turned him into bear and that thanks to her he was saved. That morning by the river he heard beautiful singing and wanted to look closer.

King’s son gave his hand to the peasant girl and so they lived happily together forever.

There's always some witch making life difficult it seems XD

A while back a friend in Moscow shared a Russian fairy tale about a pike that granted wishes... "By will of the fish, do as I wish!"

The protagonist was kind of a self-centered jerk and there was a stove with legs allowing it to run like a horse... Pretty far out!

That bear drawing is awesome.

Dont you wish just once fairy tales would happen in real life :)

Thank you @old-guy-photos! Of course. Sometimes magic happens and it seems so strange just like fairy tales.

How old were you when you wrote this?

I believe I wrote it about three or four years ago.

...oh wow....that bear drawing is just stunning. I like the story too! Makes me think of the old days....where storys weren't so full of moral stuff. Actually might do a post on this. So ty for the idea lol.

Thank you @atopy :)

Happy do give ideas, I am looking forward to that post. :)

I Love bear stories and especially when they are really humans in disguise. Great Story. Here is a painting I did of a Teepee we built on Lake Superior in Canada. One night a black bear visited and wanted to come in and visit with us.... https://steemit.com/art/@offgridlife/original-painting-teepee-and-black-bear

Bear drawing is the old story but everyone can remember until now....

omgsh! I love this bear you drew. It's beautiful! :)
