The Symphony of Blue, Black, and White
Art is not just about what we see; it’s about what we feel in the silence between the brushstrokes. Recently, I found myself drawn to a very specific and powerful palette: the deep mystery of black, the pure clarity of white, and the infinite versatility of blue. There is something incredibly soothing about these three colors.
Blue represents the sky and the sea—vast and calm—while black provides the necessary depth, the shadows that make the light visible.
White, of course, is the breath of fresh air, the highlight that brings the entire soul of the piece to life.
For this particular artwork, I decided to dive deep into Krita.
If you haven’t tried it yet, Krita is a professional, open-source painting program that feels like a dream for digital artists.
What I love most about Krita is its "brush engine." It allows you to customize your tools in a way that feels organic, almost like holding a real physical brush.
For this piece, I used a lot of textured brushes to blend the blue gradients into the dark black voids.
The "Layer Management" in Krita is also a lifesaver; I could easily separate my highlights from my shadows to ensure the white pops against the darker tones.
The process of creating this was pure meditation.
As the colors swirled on my screen, I felt a profound sense of peace.
There’s a certain "flow state" you enter when the world outside disappears and it’s just you and the canvas. Every stroke felt intentional, yet free. I wanted this painting to reflect that inner quiet—a mix of cold tones that somehow feel warm and welcoming.

Deutsche Version: Die Magie von Blau, Schwarz und Weiß
Kunst ist die Sprache der Seele, und heute spricht meine Seele in den Tönen von Blau, Schwarz und Weiß.
Diese Farbkombination hat eine fast schon hypnotische Wirkung.
Blau steht für die Unendlichkeit, für Träume und Melancholie, während Schwarz dem Bild Struktur und eine gewisse Ernsthaftigkeit verleiht.
Das Weiß hingegen setzt die Akzente, es ist das Licht am Ende des Tunnels und gibt der Komposition die nötige Balance.
Für dieses Werk habe ich Krita verwendet, eines meiner absoluten Lieblingsprogramme für digitale Malerei.
Krita bietet so viele Möglichkeiten, besonders wenn es um das Mischen von Farben geht. Ich habe viel mit den „Digital Atelier“-Pinseln experimentiert, um die Übergänge zwischen dem tiefen Schwarz und den verschiedenen Blautönen so sanft wie möglich zu gestalten. Besonders die Arbeit mit den verschiedenen Ebenenmodi in Krita hat mir geholfen, die Leuchtkraft des Weiß richtig zur Geltung zu bringen. Es ist faszinierend, wie man digital eine Tiefe erzeugen kann, die fast schon dreidimensional wirkt.
Während ich an diesem Bild arbeitete, überkam mich ein unglaubliches Gefühl der Ruhe. Es war, als würde jeder Pinselstrich ein Stück Alltagsstress von mir abfallen lassen. Das Malen ist für mich eine Form der Therapie, ein Moment, in dem nur die Ästhetik und das Gefühl zählen. Ich wollte ein Werk schaffen, das nicht nur optisch anspricht, sondern auch eine emotionale Resonanz beim Betrachter erzeugt – eine kühle Eleganz, die dennoch Geborgenheit ausstrahlt.
