I don't know if a fire is the best way to clear the wooden dicks. Our hero will die from smoke inhalation. Maybe he can take a quick look past the pile of wooden dicks with his phone to see if it's worth clearing a path or just leaving. Clearing the path would probably kill most of his battery power though...
