Here's today's Stick and Sketch Comic. Let me know what you think.
Episode 14
I like this one. I'm focusing on the set up/ punchline. This is me trying to keep my pledge of one attempt a day for 100 episodes. Let's see if I turn into Charles Schulz by then.
Please take a gander at The Pizza Guy Hall of Fame on my @travelman page.
I'm curious. How long does it take you to draw this? :D
It probably takes less time to draw than it does to photograph and post, lol. Less than five minutes a pane. Closer to five minutes if I'm having trouble figuring out how to draw a character in a particular pose. It's like the flash writing I see people doing on here- sit down, do it, put it out there. I feel like it builds my creativity muscles.
yes....drawing does build different creative muscles. I usually pre-plan the scene first...and the main issue so far is where to put the speech bubbles. So i rethink first before start drawing...then again...when doing in a program u can just replace stuff around...when doing on hand ure feked :D
Well, at this time, I'm using a marker board so I can easily erase mistakes. And I too am discovering composition issues with the thought bubbles and character positioning. You can see that in this one I had to awkwardly stack them because I was trying o get the reader to notice the dialogue in the order I intended. This is not an easy art form. It's even different than story boarding and comic book panels. I have an idea of what I want to say, then I start drawing the character whose position and emotion I have the clearest image of in my head.
Oh and I wanted to make sure to say I was REALLY impressed with your last one!
@travelman! I love what you do :)
I am mostly a lurker but I'd rather read funny comic strips than "10 reasons why ants make the best pets"
Thanks! Glad you think it's funny. And I know what you mean. You're the audience I'm looking for, the people (like me) who'd rather say to themselves, "lets' take a thirty second look at this comic, it just might be good today... anything' s better than another 8 ways to pick your nose post" ... ...Actually, on second thought, I wouldn't be able to resist clicking on the how to pick your nose post.
