Avoid your dream killers

Hi everyone,

I believe we all have a dream inside of us, a dream to be either successful, dream to marry, dream to excel etc.
.
.
Do you have a dream.... Something you have always seen yourself doing in your imagination? Please, don't let it die. Don't kill it and don't let others kill your dream. Can you remember the last time you shared your dreams with someone. It was something you were sure to achieve. Maybe, you could picture yourself driving into your petrol station, opening the door to your supermarket, owning your own hospital, running your own school, wearing your medical regalia, being the president of your country etc. Then you shared that vision with somebody. Was that person the right person to know about your dreams and visions? Are you sure you did not share your dearest dream with someone that was an enemy to it? The wrong person to share your dream with is a dream killer.
.
.
Dream killers are not necessarily bad people. They may not be haters of success. They may just be good Christians who have not tried some new things you are about to begin. When you share your idea with them, they will tell you it will never work in your environment. When you tell them of your dreams, they would caution you to be realistic. When you tell them of your hope, they remind you of your fears. For such people, things can't get better; that marriage can never work. That project can't succeed.
.
.
That way, they are killing your dream. Those who don't believe your vision may be your dream killers. Your dream killer is anything that reduces your chance of fulfilling your dream and vision. Dream killers are those who constantly shoot down your aspirations with harsh negativity. Don't look for them in the distance; they may be members of your family, friends and acquaintances. When you share your dream with them, they will tell you how unattainable that dream is. They will discourage you. They will create fear in your heart. They will tell you that it has never been done before. But refuse to believe the confession of people concerning you. What you are is not what people say you are, but what God says you are. You must begin to see yourself as God sees you, not as men sees you, because men see wrong in most cases.

TYPES OF DREAM KILLERS

  1. Accidental dream killers: These are people who care so much about that they don't want you to try what you dream. They are not doing this out of malice or wickedness. Rather, they think they are being realistic, and helping you to think right. They feel it is their duty to be realistic. They tell you that things are not really the way you think they are. They tell you they are preventing you from being disappointed in the end.
Have you ever tried to do something everyone said was not possible, but when you tried it, it worked? That is a good picture of accidental dream killers.
Accidental dream killers don't have a plan to pull you down or destroy your future - it is rather the case that they can't see what you see. The most terrible dream killer is you - what you think about your dream. Don't allow fear, intimidation and lack of finance to compromise your dream. Don't listen to that inner voice that says you can't make it. Talk back to those negative thoughts driving into your mind; rebuke them. Remember that " As a man thinketh, so he is" ( prov. 23:7). Keep repeating it within you that you will fulfill your dreams.

  2. DELIBERATE DREAM KILLERS: These are haters of your dream and future. They can't fathom the idea of you having such a great idea and they are so determined to stop you. They can't lend you your needed support because they don't want you to get there. A popular description for such people is 'enemies of progress'. There are people who want you, but not your dream. They like you more when you are a mediocre than when you are focused. Once you begin to take your life seriously, they begin to have problems with you; they will never support you. Such people should be avoided, they are standing in the way to your success. They are dream killers.

My people they only to succeed in your journey is to 'operate in silence
A sure way of keeping your dream intact is by keeping it to yourself. You don't have to share it with anyone. Let your action speak for you. When a new idea bumps into your heart and you become so enthusiastic about it, the natural thing to do is to tell someone about it, hoping to get some encouraging nudge. Well, you can be encouraged by those you share with, but there are bad consequences that could happen when you share your goals with such people. Those you share with can become jealous of you once you share your dream with them.
.
.
There is still another danger in sharing your dreams with people. When you begin to broadcast your goals, everyone will begin to praise you. That will make you feel relax. You will begin to feel that a part of that dream has been accomplished. Guard your dream jealously. Handle it like an egg. Don't allow it to crash. Pursue it with the last breath in you. Until you lay your hands on it.

BE ON * YOUR* GUARD!
