RE: Drug Wars pulls massive bait and switch

Great Post, Mark, I agree fullhearted with all of your points of critic.

"Endless track record of poor decisions" I doubt these are only poor decisions, their goal is not sustainability for the user base and the game, but sustainability based on greed, to milk this cash cow like never before.

Why switch to a worthless token? Is it because steem has value? And the value should flow into their pockets and not in ours?

I am done, and Drug Wars is done too. What is next?

Sort:

I believe the switch was for three reasons.

  1. prepare for platform agnostic so they can go to other chains and all use drug wars.io
  2. reduce the bleeding by allowing users to bypass the reward pool
  3. increase their cut

I would add that people have a good idea what STEEM is worth, and that it is useful on this site, so they don't want to spend it.

Also, once anybody uses a currency for a long time, whether STEEM or USD, we begin to place a value on it. I inherently feel attached to my USD and STEEM because I know what I can use them for, and I have known for a year+ that they have a worth. It's simple psychology, we just don't have that deeply ingrained sense of value for Future Tokens because we haven't valued them for very long. It's a gut reaction. Using some token/point instead of actual money is an old psychological trick in gaming designed to get people to spend more.
