Astronomers predict that two stars in the Cygnus constellation will collide and create a rare Red Nova Explosion so bright in the sky it will be visible to the naked eye! The two stars set to collide are orbiting each other and share a common atmosphere, like two peanuts in a shell. It's predicted that they will eventually merge and explode, increasing its brightness ten thousand fold as it becomes a new type of star called A Red Nova.

The team monitoring the star noticed that their orbit is slowing down, a sign the stars will merge soon. If it happens, there will be a very dramatic change in the sky and you won't miss it! It's 1,800 light years away and there's no exact date, just 2022 give or take a year.
