Only a few days ago the new single from the Swedish metal band, Opeth, was released. The new album is called In Cauda Venenum and will be released on September 27th 2019.
For those unfamiliar with the band, it's a metal death group now in operation since 1990 and this will be their 13th album. The first albums are therefore hard enough to hear, especially for those who are not used to the genre: damn heavy riffs and demonic voices to speak. In 2011, with the release of the Heritage album, Opeth have a musical evolution: musical experiments have shifted the band's attention to a different style, very progressive but with so many blues, jazz cues, in which the singer and guitarist Mikael Åkerfeldt replaces the groove of his voice with more melodic and increasingly sought after parts.
Really an excellent job that I like a lot and for this reason Opeth have been among my favorite bands for several years. This change will also affect the new album. In the first 6 minutes we witness a metal prog rhythmic but with a voice that is always harmonious and technical. The second half of the song is more docile, rhythmic and underlines the band's skill in amalgamating the various musical styles.

E' uscito solo da pochi giorni il nuovo singolo della band metal svedese, gli Opeth. Il nuovo album si chiama In Cauda Venenum ed uscirà il 27 Settembre 2019.
Per chi non conoscesse la band, è un gruppo metal death ormai in attività dal 1990 e questo sarà il loro 13mo album. I primi album quindi sono abbastanza duri da sentire, specie per chi non è abituato al genere: riff maledettamente pesanti e voci demoniache per intenderci. Nel 2011, con l'uscita dell'album Heritage, gli Opeth hanno un'evoluzione musicale: sperimentazioni musicali hanno spostato l'attenzione della band su uno stile differente, molto progressive ma con tanti spunti blues, jazz, in cui il cantante e chitarristaMikael Åkerfeldt sostituisce il groove della sua voce con parti più melodiche e sempre più ricercate.
Davvero un eccellente lavoro che a me piace molto e per questo da diversi anni gli Opeth sono tra le mie band preferite. Questo cambiamento influenzerà anche il nuovo album. Nei primi 6 minuti circa assistiamo ad una ritmica metal prog ma con una voce sempre armoniosa e tecnica. La seconda metà del brano invece è più docile, ritmica e sottolinea la bravura della band nell'amalgamare i vari stili musicali.
