Why is Steem ranked near the top of Blocktivity charts?
Steem has been ranked in the top 5 on https://www.blocktivity.info/ for quite sometime. At one point even being number 1 on the list.
Have you ever asked yourself why Steem is ranked so high? Remember, Steem is no longer even in the top 50 on https://coinmarketcap.com/

I value Steem. Many others do as well.
I do as well. Some people are only here for rewards and to benefit them self not to help others. That's why our marketcap suffers. That combined with Steemit introducing centralized tracking into the biggest front end (at the time they did that , people entered keys with million of USD into the same domain running closed source code).. Also it really hurts us when people give literally zero support to legit projects who have good code who release it as "freedom software"... instead people are investing all their money into DrugWars, MagicDice, or promotion into Dlive, Steempeak, All projects who do not give a CRAP about us because they keep their code closed source and often it does malicious things. In the case of magicdice they stole over 200,000usd from steemians. It's time for this activity to stop . People should wake up and understand the difference between freedom software and the rest.

I think the claim is that it drains all of the awards.
It really is situation dependent. Sometimes over-posting could be bad or okay. Bid bots and other factors come into play.

Not really breaking news, we have been in the top rankings on Blocktivity for quite awhile now. However I still think it is important for people to be aware of this.
My Point
If we all consider alternative options of posting, perhaps increases how often we post & voting with less power for each post we vote for could get Steem once again recognized as the blockchain with the highest traffic (traffic that it can handle.) EOS is very far ahead currently, this does not mean that we cannot take back our position on the Blocktivity Throne.
Honestly the bulk of EOS's traffic comes from gambling. I think that will change over time but that's why it sits so high because of so many gaming transactions so it makes sense.
Steem will have it's place and too I think with the year or so long bear many left which is likely why we are number 5. Still a great spot to be in though haha.
Yes I thought about all the gambling after I made the video. So many transactions happen quickly because of that.
And yes top 5 in activity is a great place to be.
Steem has the most daily transactions of any blockchain. And is only using 0.13% of it's capacity. This should be the real coinmarketcap

If the market payed attention to the number of transactions only, then all of Steem would be sitting pretty.
