RE: 3 day of attempting to up load a video to Dtube

in #dtube7 years ago

I would have said the site had an upload limit size ... which is governed by a setting in something called the IIS. However it is possible that it is something having to do with your connection with the internet. You could try uploading a file to another video service (if not youtube - vimeo or something similar) to see where the constraint is. If you want to reduce the size of the video, you don't need to edit it but can reduce it by slightly reducing the size of the video. Consider that humans can hear between 20 hz and 20,000 hz but sound exists lower and higher than what humans can hear. Some sound compression techniques just eliminate areas that humans cannot hear. Same thing applies to images and video. Hear is a link that should reduce the size without changing the quality substantially.

I have never used this so cannot speak of its quality. Alternative software is available. When you do get it up there, send me a message ... I would be happy to view and upvote.

Thanks for the response and info. I have been able to upload to youtube with out a problem other than time. The YouTube upload took more than 3 hours and processing was cued.

I have been working with OpenShot and have been experimenting with export formats. I have just exported it to YouTube format and seems to work well locally. file was reduced from 5.3 m to .5 meg. a sizable reduction. Now trying upload.

Got the video up to the site. but on posting it did not accept the format.

The article shows on the channel page. With thumb nail
here the link to the article https://dtube.video/v/shantamcbain/1242l9gz

I will try again with another format the YouTube.

Thanks for the help. We will find a way for it to work.

Thank you for sharing this.
