There's too many elements to this. Maybe I'll write a response blog.

For now, poverty inspires many behaviors and many behaviors inspire poverty. In the end, some of those behaviors result in carefree sex, frequent unprotected sex, more free time to care for more children (likely being a stay at home parent who may or may not be on government aid), filling a gap in one's life (loneliness, void of parent(s) or received poor care from parents), metal health, misuse of drugs/alcohol (street and doctor's over prescribing), an attempt to receive more government funding, lack of concern regarding the future, etc.

There's so many scenarios and many possibilities.

In my case, I'm poor (well, I am now after some things that happened in my life) and have one child which is enough for me.

I do wish that I had one more before my Daughter had grown so much. I'm 39 and my kid is 12yr- it doesn't feel like the best time to be bringing another lil one into our lives. If I we were younger and both of us healthier, I would have another child despite my financial state. Why? I believe that good parenting can come from many different financial brackets.

I am lucky though- in my country and town there is a LOT of community support with subsidies, gift cards, food, clothing, etc. I volunteer myself to some of those organizations so I feel that I'm putting back What I'm utilizing. My mindset would likely be very different if community resources weren't as abundant as are.

All situations are different.

WOW.

This was rather interesting to read. A different perspective than what I initially had. We don't have community or govern't allowances in Africa so the situation is abit different. Most of such kids and families live in the street begging. Very sad.
But If one can provide the basic need , food, clothing, shelter, then they can have as many kids as they can manage to take care of, just not on the street!

I don't think poor people think of their finances when they have yet another child. In fact, they just accept what it's happening as being absolutely natural and even if they don't have sufficient food to put on the table, they don't care because somehow they will manage it by getting another state allowance or going out to beg (I know this sound terrible, but where I am from, it's a common practice). All in all, the less educated you are, the less worries you've got. Only people with education are obsessed by the future and try to be prepared for everything especially fo bringing another life in this world.

WOW, That has given me something to think about. I guess education does ruin us in a way. We don't have state allowance so that's not something I can relate to.

I think people have to plan very well how many kids will have because if they don`t have enough money they will have different problems. I think the average person must have only one or maybe two children but no more that that unless there is money to give everything they need (at least every essential things they need)

Planning is very necessary I think. I hate to see innocent kids suffer as a result of bad decisions they were not part of.
