Also remember that this video isn't going to be there forever. I think they remove it after something like 2 weeks. I know, this is upsetting. Maybe in the future they will find a way to make your videos evergreen but right now they say it's too costly

Last time I checked DTube, they were using IPFS to store files. That means that you could add the video first to your own IPFS node, and then using the hash to add it to dtube. That way the video will be instantly available. And it will keep being that way while you keep your computer turn on.

Sorry. I forgot to say that you need to start IPFS as a daemon so the outer world can communicate with you. After adding the video files and snapshot to your repo in IPFS you should run:

ipfs daemon

And when you want to stop allowing outer nodes to communicate with your node:

ipfs shutdown
