What my family and friends went through to get out of Venezuela

What my family and friends went through to get out of Venezuela.

My closest family could get out of Venezuela thanks to several persons who helped us. Our friends Luis and Aiskel with their son are the persons who are with my wife Ruby and my son Kevin and they helped us a lot, also a friend from the US named Michael Evans, who donated money so I can reunite with my family and start a new life in Colombia. They departed from the house of our friends that is the empty place shown at the beginning of the video. To get out of the country you have to be very careful and avoid being inspected by Venezuelan police or military, due that they are the first hijackers and robbers of the country and as they are the "law" you can't confront them. When they arrived to the border it was closed, so they had to cross over illegal paths without checking out the exit of the country, but thanks to the colombian government we could put the seal of entrance to this country. I was waiting for them in the Colombian side.

This was recorded on march 2019 and it was a 3 day trip for both teams. Team A were all of them coming from Venezuela that was a 23 hours travel since they left the house where they were to the border and a 16 hours travel from Medellin city to the border for me. It's just a look of how things go for people with luck getting out of the country, others don't run the same luck that my family and friend got.

We have no words to describe the joy of being together in a country where things work, you feel safe and free plus you don't stress yourself thinking on how you gonna find food. In the name of all of us, thanks Michael Evans, it meant the world to us and we have you always in our thoughs.

I am happy finally you and your family find a safe place to live brother, I wish you and your family the bests!

Thanks men, it was hard and no clue of what to do sometimes but thanks to you, to your friend Michael it was easier and quicker than I though. I'm really glad we're together and safe here.

Quite an incredible journey. I hope you are settled somewhere and can begin a more comfortable life

I think this video just shows how terrible is to pass the border, because to a regular person with zero resources or friends joining the journey, it's really hard, they omitted all you have to go through from where we live to the place where they took the first bus because the father of the girl who speaks in english at some part gave em' a ride, other way they they would have had to go through the capital, other buses, metro and train and doing it that way is way harder, because there's so much evil in there and just fot having big bags they could get robbed or kidnapped. So, it's a horror movie.
