Playing in a band is not just about music

Hello dear Steemians !

Today i was thinking about the life in a band environment , and i'd like to share some insights into what does it feel like to be a part of one . Let me be open right from the start ... it feels incredible ! There is something poetic and inspiring about
a bunch of people united together towards achieving a common goal ( whatever that goal might be ) . The goal usually is spreading your music to as many people as possible while gaining some valuable friendships along the way , and generally just trying to enrich the lives of the people playing in the band and everyone around you while you perform . Of course , all this holds true only in the case if you find a bunch of people who are , besides being good musicians , also super nice people to hang around with .

There are some downs to the story , as usual . It might be especially stressful time when there is a creative conflict among some of the band members . That's the time when i wish i was working by myself :D And ... well , that's probably the only downside ... but it is a big one , and usually the one that leads to the breakup of the band . Creativity is something all of the musicians are very touchy about , and i've been involved in several arguments that transcend just the typical topic of song structures and so forth , but get personal pretty quickly . I guess that our creativity is so tied with our sense of identity that all the remarks made on our work we take very personally . That is a pitfall many of the musicians succumb to and it usually ends up badly . If the band can leave their egos aside and try to come to a satisfying agreement for all the sides , then working with such musicians is a real joy . Like these guys above for example ... i just look forward to every rehearsal , every gig and every songwriting session with them ! And i think that it shows when we play live . I guess you could tell that we get along very well on a personal level as well just by looking at our faces while we perform . Those '' eye contact '' moments of joy while playing music is something i cherish and something that among a few things makes my life very enjoyable . And from a perspective of a band member , it's even more important than flashy chops and good playing .

Hope you'll find this performance of ours worthy of your time :)
