It's only about 3km per day and I walk that easily on a work day, so I cover a lot more distance overall. I only log the runs plus any longer hikes or cycle rides, but that 1000km was all running.

I am actually surprised we do not get more people trying to game the Steem rewards. The @steemflagrewards team find enough cases to use up my downvotes. There's someone who just joined in the last few days and is buying big vote whilst not interacting at all. He has even set up a second account doing the same. That is being dealt with. We just want Steem to be the best it can be. I cannot make a huge difference, but I keep the discussion going. A few retaliation downvotes will not put me off.
