A fantastic steep twisty border road that goes through picturesque villages and has Myanmar/Burma viewpoints on the right. This video is showing the checkpoints and mainly just the road itself. The video really doesn't do it justice or show how steep some of the sections are. Freaky when you can't see around the bend and have no idea if you will meet a car coming down..haha. ..but exciting too.
At ฐานปฏิบัติการดอยช้างมูบ military base you can go into the camp area and even get a coffee/drink made for you, plus an awesome photo op.
I first rode this road a few years back, when sections were still dirt. Was a real test for me at the time as I had only just begun riding a bigger bike. It is great to ride and reflect back on that time. My previous video from back then is here:
Very cool landscapes. The border patrol guards were a lot friendlier than I was expecting. How cool!
I dont think they get a lot of people passing through. Certainly not random solo female riders. I was probably a curiosity and maybe they were happy to see a nervous smiley face..haha.
