How to Play Soccer

Today I will explain about how to play soccer. Soccer is a popular game that is played and enjoyed all around the world. However, in order to play the game, you have to know the rules of the game.

Setup & Equipment:

2 teams with 11 players on each team
a soccer ball
a uniform
practice clothes
cleats
shin pads
soccer socks
water bottle
gear bag
goalkeeper gloves

Coin Toss:
In the beginning of the game, we have to do a coin toss. This is where the ref asks each team’s leader what color they want, for example, black or white? And then, the ref tosses the coin into the air. When the coin lands on the ground, the ref checks the color if it is black or white. Whoever's color comes up wins.

Rules of the Game:
First, you can use every body part except the arms and hands. The object of the game is to get the ball into the goal. If it is a tie game, there is an extra period of 5 minutes. If there is no winner, then there is an extra time called "sudden death." This allows for 5 players during 5 minutes to decide who wins. There are several ways to get a yellow card. One way is annoying the ref or the opposing team's players. Another way is hurting the other players either on purpose or on accident. The goalkeeper is the only one who can touch the ball with hands. If you get a red card, then you must get off the soccer field. There are two ways to get a red card. The first one is to get two yellow cards. Another way is if you seriously hurt your opponent’s players, you may receive a red card.
Overall, I think soccer is a very good game if you know and follow the rules. One of my favorite professional soccer players is Son Heung-min. He is very inspiring to me.
