Lesson idea -> Could be used to teach various languages!

in #education7 years ago

Hello to all educators!

Today not necessarily a ready-made lesson, but an idea on how to use a specific material :)

First off, the idea is based on this article - a collection of 10 illustrations from the Bright Side that show how much the Internet has changed our lives. Or has it? This is a matter to discuss!

I would definitely treat this as a warm-up to something more serious. I have a whole ready-made lesson  on this topic (the Internet) with a handout, lesson plan and  links to Youtube videos but this will come later if you behave :P

How to teach this material?

1) Write nine words/phrases on the board and ask how they think these aspects have  changed due to the Internet.

holidays / vacation, packing, looking  for a job, asking for help, cooking, love/ flirting, television, knowledge, childhood, jealousy.

You may not necessarily be teaching in ENGLISH! This warmer will work with various languages!

2)  Students discuss the phrases in pairs / groups and write down their ideas.

Walk around the classroom, give ideas, examples, note some vocabulary on the board.

3) Now, hang the ten illustrations on the wall around the classroom or show them all in a PowerPoint presentation.

You can analyse the illustrations together or in pairs / groups to compare the ideas.

Extra questions: Is it bad that the world changes so much?  Could it be better / worse? What will happen in the future?

Depending on the talkativeness of the group  this warmer can take 15/20 minutes.

Now I did tell you that you this warm-up does not necessarily need to be taught in English.

I took the liberty of deleting most of the texts allowing you to edit the pdf with the language that you want to teach!!!

You can download it here <--- enjoy and have fun!!!

Stay tuned for more! and remember to let me know if you're interested in part 2 (handout + lesson plan + Youtube videos)
