A very important topic for all children, music can lead to better brain development, strengthen human relationships, and even reduce stress.
Music education is important in our schools. However, it appears to be less available in many school systems today. Unfortunately, many schools are starting to remove music from their curriculum to make room for other subjects.
A very important topic for all children, music can lead to better brain development, strengthen human relationships, and even reduce stress. With the removal of music from schools, children will no longer receive these benefits unless they attend private lessons, which are too expensive for some families. Now I will only highlight three meanings of music in school.
1) Music is a way to connect with other people
Music lessons are also important because they allow students to connect with others. Children are very social by nature and it is important to encourage them to build relationships by giving them experiences to share. Forming a school group or small ensemble, or encouraging participation in a choir, allows children to work together on an end product (such as a year-end show). This promotes cohesion and offers students something they can remember together in the future.
It has been shown time and again that people of all ages who play or listen to music together help build relationships. Spontaneous drum circles or listening and enjoying recorded music can connect people through sound, singing, and even movement or dance. Musical experiences like these can bring back good memories or create new ones!
2) Music integrates many different themes
Music education is also very important because it integrates so many different subjects at the same time. Music education not only allows children to develop their musical skills, but also allows them to work on math skills, reading and writing, scientific skills, and knowledge of history. For example, timestamps in music are a great way to enter factions, and text analysis and songwriting allow students to practice their reading skills.
In addition, examination of the instrument's function with sound-physical information and exploration of the place of music in society illuminate important historical events. When teachers are concerned about their students' abilities in other areas of study, it is easy for them to incorporate them into music lessons.
3) Music teaches discipline
Music will also teach children to develop time management skills and discipline. When students are expected to learn their tools and exercises outside of school, they develop the ability to create curriculum. You will be able to balance other activities in your life. Students will not take part in any form of undisciplined activities in the school. Music that involves discipline and time management from an early age will provide countless benefits for a child's future. For example, if a child develops discipline in elementary school, they can better balance the workload they received in high school and surpass it in class.
High school excellence can allow a student to choose the best high school he or she wants to attend, resulting in better adult job prospects.
