i agree with some of what you say. cutting children off at the knees before they learn to walk is not the way to go. also, telling them they can fly and encouraging them to jump off a cliff is not wise. when i was a child i wanted to be a super villain. a friend of mine wanted to be a screen door. being a super villain is lacking in wisdom, and becoming a screen door is lacking in reality. this is what successful parents do, is impart guidance, not restriction, teach their children the basics of reality. ignorant, short sighted parents do not change the parameters of objective reality. i'm happy the parents of the wright brothers did not tell them to jump off a cliff, and maybe, george soro's parents should have told him that becoming a super villain was not wise. poor parenting does not eliminate the need for guidance.
