The phenomenon of increased intolerance in the middle of society is of course concern, let alone the minds of hatred also has begun to touch the minds of children.

According to the Indonesian Child Protection Commission report, 79.5 percent of students consider religion in choosing friends. In addition, 1 in 4 children are banned because of their religion.

The behavior of a child is a reflection of the behavior of adults he sees and then imitates. Luckily if children imitate the positive, but look at the phenomenon of intolerance attitude in children, chances are they also learn it from the people around him.

"They imitate adults without a good understanding," said Chairman of Crisis Center Faculty of Psychology University of Indonesia, Dicky Pelupessy.

According to Dicky, the nearest child, either parent or teacher, should teach the child kindness. Telling that discriminating attitude, in this case religion, is wrong.

"The task of parents and teachers is to tell the words that should be spoken and should not be spoken. At the age of 10 years and over children are thinking abstract no longer think concretely, he was able to accept the explanation about SARA," said Dicky.

In line with Dicky, child and family psychologist, Anna Surti Ariani, M.Si, children also need to be taught through an easily understood explanation. "Over the age of 6 years the child already understands which word is good to say, and which is not," he said.

In addition, children also need to be given an example through real action. For example, show your friends or relatives who have different beliefs but still get along well.

If the child has been taught early on the importance of mutual respect for all people, regardless of the background, of course the child will also grow into a person who has good moral values, including harmony and tolerance.
