Education Children of Fishermen

Education is one factor that can be used to measure the quality of human life. A low level of education will restrict a person from entering into better access to economic resources that tends to lead to poverty and backwardness. There are factors that influence the level of education of the fisherman, the age of the head of the household, the education level of the head of the household, the mother's age, the mother's education level, the number of dependents, the family income, the head of the family, and the sex of the child. The purpose of this research is to know the description of fisherman family and educational level of fisherman in Muara Angke, to analyze factors related to accessibility and sustainability of fisherman children in continuing their education, and to know alternative of non-formal education service that more suitable with household condition / situation fisherman.

The method used in this research is descriptive method with sampling method simple random sampling. Data analysis used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis. The result of research shows that there are two factors that influence the sustainability of education of fisherman child that is big family and family income. A total of 62.73% of changes or variations in the sustainability of the education of the fisherman can be explained by changes or variations of previously suspected factors such as the age of the head of the household, the education of the head of the household, the mother's age, the mother's education level, the number of dependents, the family income, , as well as the gender of the child. While 37.27% influenced by other factors not explained in this research model. Factors that have a significant influence on the sustainability of children's education are family and family income factors.
