Richfield School Says 'Hold Up!' and Moves Classes Online Temporarily
Ever wake up and think, "What's going to happen today?" For students and staff at one Richfield charter school, the answer came with a bit of a curveball this week!
Yep, we're talking about the Community of Richfield (CBA). If you've got a student there, or know someone who does, you might have heard the news: they're hitting the pause button on in-person classes and sending everyone home for a temporary stint of remote learning!
Why the sudden shift?
Well, the school leadership decided it was best "in light of recent community events." Sometimes, things happen around town that make everyone just take a collective breath and prioritize safety. Think of it like a community-wide timeout to make sure everyone stays secure and sound. The school's main goal? Keeping all their precious students out of harm's way while things settle down.
How long is this pajama-day school going to last?
For now, it started on Monday, April 8th, and it's set to run through the whole week. The plan is for the school to take another look on April 15th to decide when everyone can safely return to the classrooms. So, for the time being, grab your comfiest sweatpants and get ready to learn from your living room!
It's a big change, no doubt, but it shows the school is really looking out for its community. While students get to stay home and learn, the staff are still expected to be on-site, keeping things running behind the scenes.
Here's hoping for a smooth and safe week for everyone, and a quick return to classroom high-fives and learning soon!
