Egretia: Marrying HTML5 and Blockchain for Mutual Good
The HTML5 technology has been developing rapidly over the past several years. Internet, mobile games, video, advertising, and other industries have been boosted by HTML5. However, the full potential of the technology hasn’t yet been unleashed because of its several weak points. Egretia believes that they can eliminate these weaknesses through the use of blockchain.
Egretia is building a platform meant to solve HTML5’s major issues, which are, as they see them:
- insecure payments;
- insecure storage of user assets;
- cheating in games;
- slow response to distributed back-end communications;
- insecurity of intellectual property;
- developers unmotivated to provide high-quality;
- undiversified approach to the monetization of traffic.
On the other hand, the proposed solution is thought to improve blockchain by eliminating the following issues:
- poor development, testing, and upgrade process;
- poor development tools and a small development community;
- user inconveniences and high learning costs;
- security issues of accounts and wallets.
Key Features
Egret Technology WorkflowEgretia is a product of Egret Blockchain Lab, a company founded in collaboration with Egret Technology. Egret Technology has been focusing on HTML5 workflow development for the past four years. This workflow includes over 10 products and has reached more than 200,000 developers worldwide. The content powered by this workflow covers 1 billion mobile terminals.
Blockchain SDKEgret’s workflow will be integrated into the blockchain interface layer of Egretia. This will allow all HTML5 games to access their blockchain development suite. In the long run, this interface network will become extendable to support Ethereum, EOS and other public chains.
Egretia EcosystemThe Egretia platform is comprised of the following elements:
- a blockchain-based development workflow;
- four core platforms;
- incubator.
The platform provides blockchain solutions and services to players, content providers, channels, and advertisers.
Roadmap
Egretia plans to release its first test development tools, chain, and smart contract in the second quarter of 2018, which is expected to be followed by the launch of the first wave of Egretia blockchain games and applications in the third quarter. Most releases, such as the user digital wallet, game platform, virtual goods trading platform, and advertising platform, are scheduled for 2019. In 2020, Egretia plans to support Ethereum, EOS and other public chains and launch the stable Egretia Blockchain V1.0.

The Media section of their website features several logos which look clickable, but in reality, are not.
Competition
The Egretia Whitepaper does not mention competitors. If you Google for “HTML5 and Blockchain” you will see that most of the results are entries about Egretia. Also, you will find another project, HTMLCoin, which looks like a competitor of Egretia.
Whitepaper and Other Documents
The Whitepaper has 39 pages, of which 28 are dedicated to the technology while the rest describes the team and the roadmap.
Conclusion
Egretia seems to be a truly innovative project, as long as they don’t have many competitors. This could also be because the solution that they offer is not yet demanded by the market. The team of Egretia, though it’s quite small compared to other similar projects, consists of experienced engineers and digital entrepreneurs who are presumably well-aware of the technical challenges they are trying to solve with the project. What’s important, we would love to see some information about Egretia’s token, token sale, and the financial side of the project because this is not mentioned, either on their website, or in the whitepaper.

Coins mentioned in post:
for mutual good? if you think it is for their mutual good then how can they have benefits from each other?
Because EGT focuses on gaming, HTML5 is very useful for that platform.
so both of them are connected to each other? or somehow related?
