A lot of emails are floating around on the Internet.
Why are there so many marketing emails?

Email marketing generates a lot of traffic and pushes the limits of major ISP's spam filters. This traffic exists alone to push products and services, just like the rest of the marketing world.

Scam, Phishing and other malicious mails in the mix and it becomes a soup of commercials, e-gangsters and relevant emails. Filters, Anti-virus and soon, if not already, AI will be guarding the well prepared mailbox owner. There's a war for your inbox!

The good observer would have noticed by now that every move you make online is tracked by some entity - either a data collection firm, a marketing firm, your bank or it could be all of them and more, including governmental agencies. But that's a different bag of chips.

Back to the email marketing. There's a lot of money in this business as there is in other business that crave for user attention. Data is being sold, generated and monetized through email traffic that offer products or services to the user. Skills like email delivery and server configurations become wanted. This and the hardware needed to run the worlds email marketing economy is an enormous and uses a lot resources.

So the reason to use all these resources is simply for your attention and money.
