Francisco Varela, Embodiment

The man pictured to the left of the Dalai Lama is the late Francisco Varela, a Chilean biologist and philosopher largely responsible for introducing the concept of "embodiment" to the world. He also cofounded, with R. Adam Engle and HH The Dalai Lama the Mind and Life Institute, the premier institute that inaugurated the scientific research of mindfulness and meditation.

I seem to always find out about great people when they've already passed :(
