Don't look for memories in the trash, and don't borrow troubles from tomorrow.

The most foolish thing a person can do in life is to cling to the past, lose sleep worrying about the future, and squander the most precious time—today. Don't rummage through the dustbin of memories, don't borrow trouble from tomorrow; living well in the present is the most worthwhile way to live.

Many people live tiring lives not because life is truly unbearable, but because their hearts are trapped by two things: clinging to the past and worrying unnecessarily about things that haven't even happened yet. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow hasn't arrived; what you can truly hold onto is this very moment.

Some people like to dwell on old memories. A small incident, a failure, a fruitless relationship—years later, they still can't forget it. They constantly bring up the past, endlessly wasting their energy, carrying around garbage that should have been thrown away long ago. Like someone I know who, years ago, had work troubles and was misunderstood, and still talks about it constantly, telling everyone how wronged and difficult things were. Life won't get better just because you keep dwelling on it; it will only keep you stuck in the same place. Everyone else is moving forward, while you're still stuck in your troubles. Past mistakes, past hurts, past regrets—they should all be put on the back burner. Constantly focusing on bad people and bad situations will only prevent you from seeing new things.

There's another type of person who worries endlessly about tomorrow. The slightest disturbance triggers a whole tragedy in their mind. Before even starting work, they worry about the pressure; before even dating, they fear being hurt; before their children are even young, they worry about them being unfilial when they grow up; the slightest discomfort triggers the worst-case scenario. They scare themselves so much they can't eat or sleep, even when nothing has actually happened. This isn't being prepared; it's making things difficult for yourself. Tomorrow's worries can be dealt with tomorrow. Worrying about them today won't change anything; what's meant to happen will happen, and what's not meant to happen is just wishful thinking. Instead of worrying in advance, eat well, sleep well, and make the most of today.

Time waits for no one; don't always put off until another day what you want to do. Many people say "I'll do it another day" or "I'll talk about it next time," but as they wait, nothing comes of it. They want to spend time with family, always saying they'll wait until they have time; they want to work hard, always saying they'll wait until tomorrow; they want to change themselves, always saying they'll wait for an opportunity. But life's most precious resource is waiting. Waiting for money, waiting for free time, waiting for later—while waiting, the opportunity is gone, and they're old, filled with regrets. Truly wise people don't wait, they don't procrastinate; they act immediately when they want to. Even a little progress each day is better than just thinking without doing.

Too many people in life understand countless principles, yet still fail to live a good life. This is because they think too much and do too little. They lie in bed planning their lives, scrolling through videos and envying others, but when it comes to taking action, they become lazy, retreat, and make excuses. The best way to cure confusion is to take action. Go to work, go to study, go exercise, go spend time with loved ones—take action, and worries will naturally lessen.

Life has no turning back, no rehearsals. Yesterday, no matter how good, is gone; tomorrow, no matter how difficult, has not yet arrived. Don't reach for what you can't hold onto; don't force relationships that can't be kept; don't dwell on things you can't understand. Don't wallow in the past, don't worry about the future, cherish the people in front of you, and do your best in the present.

Eat when you're hungry, sleep when you're tired, bear the burden when things are difficult, and correct your mistakes. Don't search for memories in the trash, and don't borrow trouble from tomorrow. Open your heart, take things lightly, focus on the present, and move forward one step at a time.

Living each day to the fullest is the best way to account for your life.
