Life is a journey, the winds may be against you, but the sails are in your hands.
We often say, "Life is full of disappointments," which sounds depressing, but upon closer reflection, it's often true. Have you ever felt this way: everything is perfectly planned, but life just doesn't go according to script, catching you off guard?
Like when you leave home expecting smooth sailing, only to find yourself stuck in traffic on the elevated highway; you hope for a successful project, but a client's phone call ruins everything; you wish everyone understood you, but all your explanations seem like a waste of time.
At this point, many people start complaining: blaming fate, blaming the world, blaming bad luck. But have you ever considered that the "wind" in this world never stops for anyone, but your "sail" can adjust its own direction?
- Don't fight with "God," first "make peace" with yourself.
I've seen too many people living in a state of constant conflict. When it rains, they blame the weather; when there's a traffic jam, they blame the road; when others don't understand them, they blame the other person for being incompetent. He always tries to change things he can't change, ending up exhausted and feeling frustrated.
It's like trying to fight the heavens and stop the rain. Is it possible? No.
Those who truly understand life have long since learned to "make peace." They know that when it rains, they use an umbrella, or simply stay home, enjoy a cup of hot tea, and savor the rare tranquility. When stuck in traffic, they put on a favorite song or listen to a podcast, turning this "waste time" into "recharging time."
This isn't giving up; it's wisdom. When you stop wasting energy fighting reality, you have the energy to adjust your mindset, find a comfortable posture, and keep moving forward.
- True "wealth" is having no money in your pocket but not feeling anxious.
Have you noticed that there are always one or two people around you who seem untouchable? They may not be the richest or the highest-ranking, but they possess a special kind of "stability."
Even when faced with immense trouble at work, he can still smile and say, "It's okay, there's always a way." Even when life is temporarily difficult, he can still sleep soundly and eat well. This state of mind isn't feigned; it's a composure that emanates from his very being.
Why can they do this? Because they've long understood: the essence of life isn't how much you possess, but how you perceive what you have.
A truly "rich" person, even penniless, doesn't see despair, but rather the opportunity to "start over"; even in darkness, they can find a glimmer of light and firmly believe that dawn will eventually break. This "spiritual wealth" is more grounded and enduring than any material possession.
- The strong don't control the world, they control themselves.
Many people misunderstand "the strong," thinking that the strong are those who can command the wind and rain, making everyone obey them. In fact, quite the opposite; the truly strong are those who can control themselves.
You can't control your boss's thoughts, but you can control your work attitude and emotions; you can't control housing price fluctuations, but you can control your spending habits and financial planning; you can't control others leaving, but you can control how you face separation and become a better version of yourself.
They don't complain, because complaining solves nothing, it only drains you. They don't run away, because they know the problems are there, and they'll have to face them sooner or later, so it's better to deal with them with a clear mind sooner rather than later.
Life is like a rushing river; it won't stop just because you tell it to. But you can choose whether to stand on the bank complaining about the current, or jump into the river, learn to swim, or even enjoy the thrill of surfing.
Ultimately, your attitude defines your life. If you hold the line in your heart, even the biggest storms outside are just scenery.
