RE: The curation and engagement leagues - Sponsored by @carlgnash and @paulag!

in #engagement8 years ago

Thanks so much @coolguy123, I appreciate that!! I think Dave has been so busy helping people on Discord...there should be a separate league for that one too :)

Sometimes real life takes over, so your drop in league 2 is understandable. Congratulations on moving up in league 1 though! That's where I need to focus on too, but I enjoy just talking with people so much that I don't seem to even think about it until Sundays :)

Oh, thank you @lynncoyle1.

Yeah, it feels nice to be featured in league 1.

Balancing the voting and getting more interactions is a bit difficult job, although not impossible. Hopefully I will feature one day in both the leagues ;)

Have a great day my friend :)

I'm sure you will be in both leagues before you know it; I beginning to try and focus on league #1 myself...I hope haha

Hope you're having an awesome day as well!!

Well, I hope so. Time is the constraint to concentrate both on comments and then curation. With schools off from this week, I am hoping I will get some additional time to spend on Steemit, so that, I can atleast try to figure in top 10 in both.

What is it that you do...away from steemit I mean?

I work as a freelance software engineer, mainly working on report generation tools from SAP.

I keep writing blogs on the technologies I work and I also work on expertsexchange.com as a solution provider to the questions related to the technologies I have worked on.

That's about me. How about you?

When you said,

With schools off from this week

I thought you were in Education somehow, but now I'm going to guess, kids?

My story is long, but here's the Reader's Digest condensed version:) I taught high school for years (loved it!), was married for 24, divorced, two kids, met the love of my life(@briancourteau), took a leave from school, bought a restaurant (also loved it!), then he (my love) got cancer, did all the traditional and non-traditional treatments, neither worked, we sold everything and moved to Mexico, which is where I am at the moment. My boys are young adults in their 20's and still live in Vancouver, BC where we all used to be. So...we are currently just living and enjoying our days, however long they may last. It is what it is; of course we are heart-broken, but also feel very fortunate for the the time we do have together. Life works in very mysterious ways, and I am not about to try and sort it all out! We have both written about it all here, which has been very therapeutic, and we have encountered amazing support as well. Who knew...steemit would be my support system here in Mexico??!!

Well there it is...you asked :)

but now I'm going to guess, kids?

That's right, with schools off, my son has moved to his grand parents house and that gives me some more time to spend on Steemit.

Sorry to hear about your husband's condition. Some things can't be avoided and we all go through such situations in our life. I am glad that you could come out of that situation and encourage your kids and trying to move on from what you experienced. That's all life is all about, isn't it?

I am glad to know about you and your family. :)

That's always a nice treat for everyone...the grandparents enjoy it, your son enjoys it, and hooray, you're 'kid-free' for a few days. I loved being a mom, but I also loved the occasional break:)

Thank you for your compassion; we have absolutely no choice but to deal with whatever life gives us. I'm choosing to handle it all as positively as humanly possible. I have my meltdowns mind you, but they're quiet, private and relatively short-lived ;)

I am glad to know about you and your family. :)

...and I yours!
