RE: The Curation and Engagement Leagues 🏆 - STEEM prizes available! 🎁

Congratulations on the win, @janton. You were really out and about making the rounds. It seems like you're making good progress on here. Keep at it and those prizes will add up in no time. You could be a whale in the making. :)

lol! howdy from Texas @themanwithnoname! Well, I don't know if I'm going to stick with this or not so we'll see, it's rather addicting though because of the social aspect. And as far as the contest I was just hoping to be in the top 10 so that was a shock.

Plus I consider @glenalbrethsen to be the winner and I simply could not do what he does but I'm happy with 2nd place.

hey are you a big Spaghetti Western fan? I still think those are the best westerns ever made and that username is one of the very best on here!
so good to hear from you sir, you did pretty darn good yourself in the contest!

Hey @janton! I think you should stick around. That's just my personal opinion though. If you're planning on making Steemit a thing that you do for any considerable period of time, the Engagement League will help keep you engaged and active. It's easy to feel lost on steemit, but if you have people that you routinely interact with, it makes things easier.

Placing in the top 10 is an accomplishment and you should be proud. I've only topped the league once and that took a lot of work. The prizes are much bigger now, so you'll do well financially if you keep doing well in the league.

@glenalbrethsen has generously chosen not to accept the prize money for now, but if you consistently give him a run for his money, he might start taking them again. He spends a lot of time on here, but I think you've shown that you're a contender.

I am a big spaghetti western fan. They're some great movies. I like to watch them from time to time. That's where I got the inspiration for my name. Also, I don't give a name, so it's a little more anonymous.

I try to place in the top 10 every week. Even though I don't really expect to take any of the top prizes, I still try to get in the top 10. Then I know that I've done well throughout the week, and I get a prize that I can power up to help me on my journey.

It was nice to meet you and I hope to see you around. If you even want to start a comment conversation (or commentversation) hit me up and we'll chat about something. ;)

Hey @themanwithnoname! Congratulations for the Top 10 finish. You seemed to come and go a lot last week, so once again you and others are proving quality time over quantity.

We are getting new people who are contending for higher places and it’s all good. I’m glad to see it. Things do get serious, I will get back into it.

As it is, I thought I’d have a higher CL count than I ended up with, so maybe I need to keep track of it, too. Every time I go estimating numbers, I’m waaaaay off. I can add them up, I just can’t forecast them. I’m a writer, not an economist!

Yeah, I ended up inadvertently taking a few days off last week. That's the way it goes. I think the amount of effort required to get from top 10 to top 3 is considerable. I already spend a lot of time online, so I need to be happy with the results I'm getting. I think it would take much more time to move up in the rankings. I don't want to get burned out, and I want to be able to do things in real life too.

I like it that newer people are coming in. From what I've seen, they might do well one week, but they seem to drop off after that. Some have stuck around though, so let's see if they're able to keep coming back. We still haven't gotten a true contender to beating you, at least not consistently.

I thought I'd have a higher CL than I did as well. I had a number of long replies and you had I had quite a few back and forths. Oh, well. I'm pretty much happy as long as I'm winning a prize, even if that prize is only a 1 Steem for not self-voting. I like to see other people get prizes too as I know how encouraging it can be, so I don't take issue with people passing me in the rankings.

Nothing wrong with being who you are. We're all created different and tend to do best when we play to our strengths. Don't worry about being something you're not. I've spent time thinking about how I'd love to be super technical and figure out the ins and outs of Steem so I could make a ton of money off it, but that's not how I was made/been trained, so I try to just do what I can.

It's just as well that we have things to do other than Steemit to keep our minds refreshed. For some reason I found it hard to get going today, even though I had a day off and didn't work all of Saturday, either. I had every intention when I walked out to the office to get going, but then sat here like I was staring at a brick wall. Finally got going in the late afternoon, but it was kind of aggravating. I did keep busy with some other things—Mondays are generally good for those kinds of distractions, except this time they were helping me feel like I was at least doing something.

So, I don't know what it was, but I kind of had a similar thing last week, and I spent the latter part of the week catching up on posts.

Well, for me the prize isn't the big deal, but I do like doing the best I can each week. And when I feel like I've done that, I'm usually in good shape placement-wise, too. There's always more we can do, but we probably don't need to become machines. That's what we have machines for. :)

Amen, brother. We can do it to have fun, but once it becomes something that we're doing just because we're "supposed" to do it, then we might be in trouble... unless we're using it for work, in which case, we need to either knuckle down and get to work, or find another job.

I've always been more partial to the idea of doing things, even work, because you want to, rather than being compelled to do it. Unfortunately, I've spend most of my adult life doing exactly the opposite, because the things I want to do don't pay enough. Not good enough to be a professional bowler, but boy, if I could, I would. :) As it is, I'm just barely sort of a professional writer, thanks to Steemit. :)

I think there is something to be said for discipline and buckling down, but in my case I might need to get a physical or something. I'm kind of concerned that even though I'm sleeping enough hours, I'm not actually getting the rest I need when I do.

thank you so much @themanwithnoname! lol love that username

I was kind of surprised that it hadn't been taken, but I'm glad that it wasn't. :)

me too. someone else probably would have given that no name a bad name!

then he might be @thebadmanwithnoname. Ha ha.

lol good one sir!
