Today I post them about bipolarity, since it is something that has become popular or viralized in society. We hear frequently as between young people and even children and adults often use phrases like: "you changed your mind, you are a bipolar" "you were happy, in a second you are sad, you are bipolar" "how are you so hard to decide, You are a bipolar. "

That is why I not only come to clarify what this term means and the misuse they make when verbalizing it, but also to make known the implications and the relevance that "being a bipolar" brings as a consequence.

According to the DSM-V (manual diagnosis and statistics of mental disorders) book on which we support psychologists to find and apply on ALL the disorders that exist today, makes reference that the BIPOLAR DISORDER at present is classified in DISORDER BIPOLAR I AND BIPOLAR II DISORDER, revealing that the first one presents as its main feature manic-depressive episodes, how is that? The person must present MONTHS, at least 4 or 6 in manic phase (pathological joys, excessive motor restlessness, flight of ideas or what we know as speaking without thinking about what we are going to emit in words, abnormal use of corporal energy, irritability and low tolerance, decrease in the need to sleep.) with a minimum of 4 to 7 days, and the other 4 or 6 months have a known depressive phase that is nothing but discouragement to perform daily activities something as simple as getting up from your bed, brush your teeth, bathe, eat with a minimum of 2 weeks.

In relation to the BIPOLAR II DISORDER, the aforementioned characteristics must be fulfilled and at the same time a GREAT DETERIORATION must be presented in the SOCIALIZATION AND LABOR areas. Otherwise, its diagnosis is not viable. It is necessary to bear in mind that at least one manic episode is needed throughout life to be able to diagnose the disorder and both require hospitalization.

DID YOU KNOW THAT, The risk of suicide throughout the life of a person with bipolar disorder exceeds 15 times the desire or frequency of suicide of a person who does not present the diagnosis?
Once again, thanks for reading, I hope this information is useful for you, and to learn more about the true meaning of the term.
