SOLEDAD - COLOMBIA
Soledad is a Colombian municipality in the department of Atlántico; it occupies the ninth place in terms of population in Colombia and the third in the Caribbean region, after Barranquilla and Cartagena de Indias. It is one of the municipalities with the highest population growth in Colombia; in 2005 it had 455 734 inhabitants and in 2010, 661 851. It is located in the city of Barranquilla and belongs to its metropolitan area. The gentile is solemn.Shield of loneliness

This is the main square, where the weekends gather to celebrate family celebrations.
Here we appreciate the central church, which gathers many Catholics and visitors.

Culture
Carnival
The Soledad Carnival is the most important folkloric and cultural festival in the municipality. It is celebrated annually. From Saturday to Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, it is celebrated between the months of February and March. The carnival season begins on the second Saturday in January, when public parties and festivals begin (they are places to dance), in this period of time people disguise themselves, get drunk, throw colored powders, in short, it is a waste of happiness.
Museum
Soledad has a Bolivarian Museum - House of Bolivar, where the Liberator Simón Bolívar lived days before his death. It is a house of the colonial era that was property of Pedro Juan Visbal, located in the municipal head a few meters from the central church, which displays paintings and documents that narrate the life and work of Simón Bolívar. The House of Bolivar de Soledad was declared a National Monument according to agreement 039 of 1970 and Museo Bolivariano de Soledad as of March 8, 2005 emanated by the Municipal Council of Soledad.
Gastronomy
Butifarra soledeña, gastronomic symbol of the city.
Soledad is nationally recognized for being the cradle in the country of the butifarra, sausage of Catalan origin, which is one of the culinary logos of the Caribbean Coast.
It is a sausage based on beef and pork, which is very much desired by strangers and suckers.
Religion
The predominant religion is Catholicism; the church of San Antonio de Padua was declared a national heritage.
