Infant Jesus of Petare Religious Tradition.

The Bolivarian state of Miranda stands out for hosting multiple cultural and religious expressions that represent the sense of belonging of each population, one of these manifestations is the celebration of the baby Jesus of Petare, patron of this locality of Mirandino.
For this reason, the Petareños prepare various recreational activities that take place in the Historic District of Petare in homage to their patron saint, after their descent from the temple where they live for the rest of the year to visit the schools of the community.
Likewise, the community of Petareña attends, as it does every year, the solemn Mass that takes place in the facilities of the Church known as Dulce Nombre de Jesús, and then goes to the sacred Eucharist.
Special care
As in any religious tradition, the consecrated images have different personalities that take care of and protect them. In the case of the Child Jesus of Petare, has the attentions of his own "nana", it is Amelia Rodriguez, who has been 46 years exercising the noble work of taking care of their clothes, clean it and protect the offerings.
Although Amelia is not a professional seamstress, she is in charge of sewing the costumes of the customized image, designing stockings and shoes. The Child Jesus of Petare has 23 costumes, grouping the diary and those made for special occasions that the septuagenarian is changing according to the liturgical colors of the church.
History in time
The piece of the Child Jesus of Petare is carved in bronze and tin, measures 70 cm and weighs 30 kg with an origin dating from 1650. This representation of the patron of Petare, has been in the hands of many families who have been responsible for their protection and festive preparation.
An interesting fact is that the image of the Child Jesus of Petare during the tour is accompanied by a group of children from the community, who ask their employer for health and healing.
