New Orleans unveils $445K porous paving project, part of plans to reduce subsidence
The city has long been in the habit of paving over open spaces with impervious concrete and pumping every inch of rain quickly into its drainage system to keep streets dry.
Interesting article about how the City of New Orleans is moving toward more porous pavements. So far what I've read about the porous pavements is that the results are not great, but maybe they've improved it. Either way, the US has to more away from paving so much of the land, it just pushes more and more water into the rivers that end up overtopping.
