The New Orleans East Landbridge restoration project in the photo above is a large-scale marsh creation project that will create and restore 33,400 acres of marsh, once fully implemented. The project will help increase protection from storm surge and waves, and improve fish and wildlife habitat.

Interesting article about a restoration project in South Louisiana and the benefits it might bring. I think this land bridge restoration project is important because without it, the Lake gets too much salt water and tidal flow, destroying the swamps. This restoration might just bring the salinity back to levels that the swamps have a chance to regrow......
