EOS Inflation Rate and Token Transfer

Hello Everyone!
I am new to the forum. i Have recently been doing a lot of research into EOS but still have many questions and concerns. First I believe steems inflation rate is too high at 10%, will eos have a similar inflation rate? I have heard the inflation rate will be 5% but idk if thats true. Secondly, since the eos tokens are ERC20 and are not guaranteed to represent 1 token on the eos platform why would they have any value?
