EOS is actually Eos, the Greek Goddess of the Dawn. (See Everipedia). A new day, a new beginning. Get it?
Yes, that would mean EOS is female.
EOS Dawn was named intentionally. What's more, the EOS logo is called a chestahedron, which is the sacred geometric form that underlies the structure of the human heart. The shape that fits inside of this figure is called a decatria. When the decatria is at the core of the chestahedron, it forms the logo for shEOS.
