My EOS Knights Experience So Far(Dappreview)
There's quite a lot of interactive games these days and the inclusion of blockchain has added an extra layer of transparency, thus improving the experience.
During my usual sojourn through the land of Stateofthedapps I encountered something fun that was sticking out like a sore thumb in the list of games to choose from, so I decided to check it out, well actually there were two main reasons I chose to
- It had a nice thumbnail
- It was hosted on EOS blockchain.
I developed an interest in EOS when I found out that the blockchain is run in a similar way to steemit. I'm absolutely in love with steemit, so I figured why not get into this, so I did and my first experience with the blockchain is through a game called EOSKnights
If you're new to EOS blockchain like me, I'll be highlighting steps that I took to create my own EOS wallet, there are probably other ways and I'd appreciate your comment and contribution. So back to the game.
I use an Android phone, so my conversation will be limited to my experience with my phone.
You can easily download the game on Playstore, just follow this link but take note that you will also require a plug in called scatter or any other you can reccomend.
After downloading the game, the next phase is to create an EOS account, here's how I did mine. To use this process, you will need a verified Blocktrade account and about 3SBD
- open the game and you will be prompted to select a type of wallet, I picked Nova wallet.
- Select a username of 12 characters to meet EOS standard, generate your key.
- you will then be given an EOS account and memo for which you are to transfer 0.3934 EOS to.
- I directly converted 3SBD to EOS and included the memo suggested and there you have it, your Nova wallet is ready.
Gameplay

When you're done with the wallet creation, the next step is to get acquainted with the basics
Meet Eric The Knight
Eric is the first character you meet in the landing page. He's your cute Knight who spends his whole day fighting goblins. There are other knights that get unlocked as the game proceeds and your level increases.
The floors
Every time Eric kills a goblin, he climbs up a floor. He has to get a kill streak of Ten goblings to reach the next level. The higher you get, the more difficult it gets.
Rebirth
Eric also dies and every time he dies, you have to click rebirth. For every time you click rebirth, the time taken for Eric to resurrect again also increases. Also, every time you click rebirth, you will be rewarded some items or materials that you can use to upgrade Eric and aid him to get to the next level(kill streak of ten).
Items and Materials
These are picked up during Eric's battles with the gobblings. They can be used either to upgrade your character or can be traded in the in game market place.
Items can be combined based on the specifications to make materials like weapons, armour and other accessories.
These materials produced can also be sold in the market place.
Leveling Up
You level up through experience points you gain through fighting. When you level up, you get a skill point that you can use to upgrade your character. When you get to certain levels, you unlock special moves that can also be upgraded using skillpoints
In game Trade
There are a number of purchasable and sellable items inside the game. The items prices are determined by how rare they are and are prized automatically by the game.
Materials and items are usually found in the market place, you can buy and sell there.
Archer and Mage: the Archer and Mage are also purchasable through the game and can be included in your squad.
Pet: Pets are also purchasable items in the game. You can send them to do your biddings as well.
In game Features
Other features in the game include
Boss Battles(Dungeon)
You get to team up with other knights to defeat dangerous rat faced monsters. These are no ordinary mice too, there's often great reward for defeating them.
Contests
You can compete with each other in regular contests held and win huge prizes in EOS.
Security
Last but certainly not the least is security. Your game is protected by your Nova wallet and every activity must be sanctioned by your wallet. I customized my own to require my fingerprint and a code of six numbers before any action can be taken with my account. You are also notified whenever an action is taken.
Summary
I was looking for a fun way to get involved with EOS blockchain and I found it through this simple game to play. There's a bunch of ways you can view this; considering you can pick up items and combine to form materials that are tradable, one could say playing this game is sort of like mining. The development process is somewhat slower when you don't invest EOS in the game, but that notwithstanding, you can still have fun with the game.
I've got to get back to my knight now anyways. Perhaps we'll meet in the battlefield someday.
Your comments, observation and any other helpful information about EOS , setting up a wallet and this game will be really appreciated. Thanks for iting.

I should probably buy the other two knights, with just little Eric the twat the game is more than a little tedious, at least with three it would become tedious 3 times slower. The market is a complete farse though but then again it takes me so long to get the items I need that no one wants to buy my old shit.
There's an event coming up though😂

Interesting, I have an eos account, but its pretty inactive. Have you made your 3sbd back in eos yet?
Nope but I'm playing the long game, I want to have the EOS account in case something good could come out in the future.
Its cool to be diversified
