The special features of leaf-cutting ants, also called "Atta", are their habit of carrying pieces of leaves that they cut above their heads. These ants hide under the leaves, which are very large compared to their body size. This leaf they hold with a tightly closed chin.
Therefore, the return trip of worker ants after working all day gives a very interesting sight. People who see it will feel as if the forest floor is alive and walking. In the rainforest, their work takes about 15 percent of leaf production.
