Singapore

Singapore, a small country that always wants to go back there because there are always unique things that I get every time I visit.

Though small, Singapore is a very organized and modern state. There are many interesting things for me in Singapore, for me-Indonesians, who will not be forgotten after returning home;

This country is incredibly clean, though there is rarely a trash can!

This is amazing, I rarely see any trash here, but there is no garbage in the street or tourist location! Awareness of the environment seems to be really imprinted in every Singaporean.

I usually keep garbage in my pocket or bag until I find a trash can. If desperate littering, we will be fined quite expensive.

Holiday in Singapore is not impossible. Read the tips here!

Hell for cigarette addicts

Not all places in Singapore allow us to smoke freely as in Indonesia - although there are special smoking places in Indonesia, there are still many who smoke semabrangan in public places. In Singapore, smokers are only allowed in certain places. Look around or ask people, is it okay to smoke than you are fined. Fortunately I am not a smoker so no need to be confused to find a place to smoke.

MRT and bus has always been a loyal friend

One of the mass transportation modes in Singapore is the MRT. By using the MRT we can move from one place to another very quickly and cheap even faster than if we use Taxi, because taxis can be hit by traffic jams and traffic while MRT can go without obstacles and on time.

In addition to MRT, bus is also one of the cheapest transportation alternatives. In order not to be mistaken to go down, my bus ride usually always tell the driver and stand beside or at least close to him. Most drivers will tell us when it comes to destination. Every bus ride I always tell my destination to the driver and stand near him.

Respect for parents, women, children and people with disabilities

Singapore is a country that respects the rights of every individual, especially parents, pregnant women, mothers with children, sick people and people with special needs.

In every MRT carriage there are several seats dedicated to them, so if you are not one of those categories you should not dare sit in that place except when the MRT car is empty. Morning and afternoon is the time when the MRT is crowded, I see some young people standing up to give their seats to old mothers

Culture queuing in Singapore has been deeply embedded in every citizen, do not ever grab a queue if you do not want to get reprimanded. Usually at every entrance of the MRT there is a queue line where people come out first new people can enter after the out runs out. For the sake of safety, just observe others, if others have moved in new we join in.

Stand on the left side while on the escalator

Different countries different rules, if in Indonesia you do not need to pay attention to the rules that exist when using the escalator just stepped up, up a new road again. But when you are in Singapore and use the escalator or moving walk make it a habit to stand on the left, because on the right is the path for people who want to overtake or walk fast.
