Give thanks with alms, give charity with gratitude

Alms is a manifestation of gratitude for all the pleasures we feel. A person who is grateful always feels enough even excessive in receiving favors, then he then easily shares that happiness with others. Conversely, a lack of gratitude can make a person who is well-versed feel he is always lacking, so giving can be something that is difficult to do.

Poorly trained gratitude can also make us arrogant. Think that assets and everything that belongs to them are solely the product of your own business. Therefore, only we are entitled to everything. Forgot if there really is someone else's rights in it and it is our duty to provide the maximum benefit with what is entrusted to us.

Allah says in Al-Quran surat an-Nur verse 33,

And give to them a portion of the inheritance of Allah that has been given to you.

Rasulullah saw. also said in a hadith at at-Tirmidhi, that:

in fact in every treasure there are rights other than zakat

.

If we realize that everything that is in us is a gift from God Almighty. which must be grateful for, and charity is part of our obligations, then there is nothing to boast about doing it.

In fact, being able to share is also something to be grateful for. The person who receives our alms is an intermediary that will bring us closer to Him, there is no reason to humble or hurt him. As mentioned in the Quran Surat al-Baqarah verse 264:

O ye who believe, do not eliminate (reward) your alms by mentioning it and hurting (the recipient's feelings), like someone who spends his wealth because of riya to man and he does not believe in Allah and the day after. And the parable of the man is like a slippery stone on which there is land, and a heavy rain falls on the stone, and then he is clean. They have not mastered anything they have tried; and God does not guide the unbelievers.

Our pride will only eliminate merit, our humiliation will only humble ourselves and make useless what should be good. Hopefully we are more easily grateful and shared with full sincerity, without expecting praise or feeling greater than others.
