Memories of BBQ'ed food I ate but did not cook

My dad used to bbq on Sunday nights when he was home. He always had a bbq wherever we lived. He bbq'd rain or shine and in all seasons. I can remember him going out to remove snow if that was what it was going to take for him to be able to cook.

He traveled for work and was often gone for a few weeks at a time. He sold large machines like Xrays and ultrasounds to hospitals and was either selling them somewhere or visiting the places overseas where the machines were made.

But when he was home the Sunday night bbq was on. The meat I remember him cooking was rib eye beef steak that had been marinated in French dressing overnight by my mom. I still like that steak the best if I am having it, but rarely get the sweet flavor of the dressing. Maybe she made that idea up out of her head.

My bbq photo is of a nice spread of meat I had one night at my friend's house. I took it with a cheap point and shoot camera while in Bangkok Thailand. This grill is nothing like anything my dad ever had. His grills were always the latest and greatest he could find.

In Thailand, they make do and create their own grills, and the food is still awesome. And winter is not ever found over there.
