My first week as drugslord!

in #esteem7 years ago (edited)

Around a week ago, I did enter the world of producing drugs, weapons and alcohol. Not only produces but I also claim to have a wide distribution network!

Luckily drugwars are not available yet, so each druglord can quietly expand their production, create armies and alliances! At the moment we all claim to be the new Escobar!

Investments

Since the beginning of my steem adventures I always was powering up for a full 100%, but when @magicdice and @steemmonsters did enter into my world I understood that it was vital to always have some liquid steem in my wallet. This decision was made just before @drugwars did go live!

Quikly I discovered Drugwars and this was an excellent time to see if being one of the early players does have an advantage. So I did start upgrading some buildings with the Instant Upgrade functionality. In the early days there were some kick ups in the game, but the drugwars team was 24 hours per day available to solve them! Great job!

The first investment was made on the 11th of February and was quickly followed by some more when the drug money came in :)

In total my investment in the game is 80.839 Steem. A rather big investment because it is around 5% of my Steem wallet. Time will tell if I did made the correct decisions!

But because I don't want to step in the same pitfall as I did with Steemmonsters I also decided to not invest any further!

Drug money!

Last Sunday was the best day so far with a drug pay check of 12.499 steem. Which I could get this daily, could get used to it!

I did receive 8 paychecks so far, good for a revenue of 63.296 Steem. An average daily pay-out of 7.9 Steem. I do think that this average will drop. Because no new fiat investments will be done, I will have to make the right decision and of course it will slow things down!

Here is the profit/loss graph!
z0susxm2yc.png

I do hope to start making a profit after 5 to 6 days. With a little but of luck this will be possible after 4 days, but then I do need 4 consecutive days with a paycheck above 4 steem! Possible but you never know in drug land!

It is hard to be a drug lord! Decision time!

If have been thinking about this all day and still didn't figure out what the next step should be.
The next target is a new Pharmaceutical Lab. The current one is an outdated level 2! An upgrade to level 3 would increase the drug production with almost 25K. But it has a cost, a rather big one. 100K drugs, 140K weapons and 180K alcohol!
There are 2 ways to glory in this. Upgrade the weapon and alcohol silos and wait until I did get the resources and in the mean time depositing drugs in the heist. Or to take the slow road and first invest in a better weapon and alcohol production. This will set me back in the resources of drugs and weapons or alcohol but I will reach my desired resources and would give me a more balanced production line!

The Cartel

Just like in the real drug world, it is wise the join a Cartel. You can see it as buying some kind of protection and it is!
So before you all attack me be warned that I am part of the biggest and best Cartel in drug land!
We could be nice but will react fierce and brutal when one of us will be attacked! We will not tolerate this! Hell no!

Cheers,
Peter

Hi @fullcoverbetting!

drugwars

69.888 STEEM received - 80.839 STEEM spent
Sum: -10.951 STEEM

Thanks for telling me more about Drug Lords - I am glancing at the game as I get time, and would like to start playing. I see you cover other Steem gaming topics too! I look forward to reading more about your escapades as an up and coming Drug Lord!

Gaming could push steem a little bit further.
But we do need to understand that the games are created by the creators to make a profit so we should be careful in which we will invest!

Wow! You did a big investment there! But soon you will get the ROI... well done

I had some liquid steem available and I was pretty fast in the game so i decided to take a gamble.
I did the same with steemslotGames where it did work.
Cheers,
Peter

I went all drug production at first, no understanding that I needed more Alcohol and Weapons really, they control everything that isn't being bought via STEEM. Now that my upgrades will cost me 50+ steem. I have been stuck for days upgrading my silo and headquaters so I can actually produce and store 200k+ to upgrade. I have no idea how I can ever upgrade once the attacks open up again...

I do have the same problem. I am not planning to invest anymore steem into it! Investing in an upgrade of more than 30 steem would not be smart. I am not sure that you would get back a positive ROI on it.
I am now waiting to upgrade my weapon and alcohol production and the new Pharm lab hopefully at the end of the week. The combination of this should bring my account a little further.
Ps: did you read my post about steemslotgames? If you want some free steem, a must do :)

Cheers,
Peter

I need to check out that post, but I so far I have stayed away from magic dice. I typically don't do very well.

I need my silo at like level 9 or 10 to get my pharma at level 4. I need 315k Alcohol!

I did try to reply to this comment yesterday multiple times but the steem blockchain wasn't in a cooperative mode :(
I also will have to invest in Silos. Guess we are on the same level!

Please do check out the post. It isn't about magicdice. The hype of magicdice is over, activity is dropping hard there.
It is about steemslotgames and I do offer you a risk free gamble!

You've been busy

You're producing quite a lot of stuff already! Happy to have you on the THE Cartel team.
My personal strategy is to start bottom-up, so first invest in more weapon and alcohol production before I build my Pharmaceutical Lab level 2. In this way the next upgrade will also be reached quicker. (on the other hand, extra drug production leads to more Steem payout, which can be used to buy upgrades outright)

I decided also to take the road of weapons and alcohol.
As a result the steem payout in the next days will be less but I agree that it is a smarter approach.
Will not invest anymore steem in the game. All my next upgrades do cost a lot!

True, the first upgrades are priced reasonably well, but the rest is simply too expensive. Especially when you are someone, like me, who powers up most of his liquid Steem anyway.

I normally am also continuingly powering up all the liquid steem I have. But I did learn that it is always good to have some liquid steem at hand.
This did came in handy when drugwars went life, it did came in handy when steemslotgames went life and so on.
So I am now trying to keep at least 20 to 25 liquid steem in wallet. Even have some 30 in the saving. Will take 3 days to free it, but much better than the need to power down!

Sounds like a wise strategy. I had about 5 Steem the moment DrugWars went live and just see the difference between you and me now...
I changed payout preferences from 100% SP to 50-50% again, so hope to increase the speed of growth of my liquid holdings from now on. The DrugWars daily rewards should help with that too of course.
Power down is a no-no for me too for the time being.

The 50-50 could be a wise move if the SBD crawls back above the $. Then it would feel like getting free steem :)

I have not yet decided on tactics. I want everything at once, and at the same time I do not want to introduce steem into the game.

You can start slow without investing steem and see how it goes. Before investing make sure that you have some kind of investment plan. I do want to advice you to be careful with investing too many steem into it!
Feel free to use my referral ID and have fun because that is what it should be about!

Wow! So many people diving into this so deeply! I wonder if I am too late as I haven’t spent any Steem on it yet... Trying to understand the strategy first but so many options makes it difficult!

Just start and try. You can try it out without investing a dime!
But be aware that it is pay 2 play. At a certain moment in time the funds will dry out!
I was too late with SM, just too late with Magicdice but for sure in time with drugwars!
Feel free to check out my post about steemslotgames there is some free steem for you if you want! You can invest this into drugwars 😁
Let me know if you need a referral id for drugwars!
Just try it out without investing and if you decide to invest make some kind of investment model first!
Cheers,
Peter
