My final year project. Part 1
It was a very sunny morning. My classmates and I were lined up at the front of Mr. A's office, my first project supervisor, a computer science lecturer in my university.
Let me tell you how final year project goes in my university. During every second semester of the third year, students are being given projects topics which will be defended in the final year. These projects determine a huge part of their cumulative G.P.A, so there is always extra tension that comes with it. Students were to either bring a topic for approval by their supervisors or the supervisor determined the topic for the student, anyway, in my own case, we were left to bring our topic.
Everyone was punching on the screen of their phones trying to do only God knew what. One thing was for sure, no one was going to share their project titles due to fear of hijacking. I guess no one was just really confident enough to show what they had while we waited. For me, it was a totally different story. I mixed up the date for the title submission, I wasn't even ready, so right there I began brainstorming, and oh boy, did I come up with something? Yes.
Meanwhile, there had been rumours about Mr.A, if he gave you a topic, chances are you might have to sit for an extra year to successfully pass the project.
So I pondered relentlessly, thinking of a project that won't cost me so much either financially or time wise, and yet will have an excellent use case. So I came up with an idea, A car alarm system that was to send a message to the owner of a car whose car is being tampered with unknowingly, e.g, forcefully opening of the door of the car alerts the owner and is even has a specific system of determining the exact action taking place. e.g, left car door being tampered with.
Sounded fair enough right, so yeah my time came to present and lo and behold my heart was smashed into pieces as my lecturer told me, err, you see, you might not be able to get the materials you need for that project, find something else. Anyway I had to, I wanted to graduate in peace. So went back and researched then I came up with something that was already in the body of knowledge but I added to it.
During all my research I could ascertain that all voting systems till date weren't digitally automated, boom, the idea swooshed in like that Nike sign, do a mobile voting app where citizens have to download prior an election, register accordingly, and wait for the election time, where one device is registered with one user and they can cast their votes all from the convenience of their room. And yes I did it, not sure I should go into all the details of that on this post, it might seem too lengthy, however, I've got you, I'll tell you in another post and I'm sure it will steal your attention just as this one did.

Sounds interesting and will now have to wait for the next post.Lucky you brainstormed and came up with something else under pressure. Obviously it was a hit otherwise you would keep quiet lol.
