Remove The Bad Apple.
I remember back in my college days, one of my teachers is used to this statement " One bad Apple spoil the others". Before this statement became the usual from my English teacher, there used to be this incident when the teacher would be teaching and sometimes facing the board to write something then a particular student or a group of them will just do something funny and distract the class. But immediately the teacher turns around to catch those distracting, the whole class becomes quiet and the teacher will find it difficult to know who and who did the rot, he will then ask the class who did it? Unfortunately in our class back then we don't expose our colleagues or betray anyone of us no matter what. So, when we make it so hard for the teacher to identify the offender(s) with the annoyance of punishing whoever it might be...then he will just decide, okay, since you guys cannot provide me the person everyone would be punish. Haha, at this juncture some of us would be tempted to say the truth but our conscience will not allow us because of the blames we may face from fellow colleagues, so, most times we keep quiet and face the music together but in some cases we don't hesitate to tell who the offender is especially when we re fade of suffering from another's bad habits.
This scenario simply teaches me that I live the way I live because I accept to live that way. So, if someone introduces me to a bad habit, I have all the power in me to say no and also to accept it. If you re a drug addict, you can decide to say no to it and change. Nothing happens without your consensus. Now, the bad part of not removing bad habits early is that it can ruin one entire life. The more you inhabit a certain bad character the more you gravitate to a higher level until it becomes too big to come out of.
Take for instance, someone who starts stealing little things like stuffs from his friends, neighborhood or in school... If such a person is not corrected early enough he moves up by walking together with like minded individuals of his type. Before you know it he becomes a criminal and to correct him from that stage is like trying to drain up the Pacific ocean. It would be so difficult. Moreover, the best person in position to correct such habit is the person himself. He knows everything that entices him or her to such habits, so, if he wants to ignore the enticement and walkaway, he can! He can only be able to overcome that situation by denying himself of the enjoyment he derives from doing what he does.
Don't wait till your habit becomes like mount Kilimanjaro, it might be very difficult to come down.
IDENTITY YOUR BAD APPLES EARLY BEFORE IT SPOILS YOU ENTIRELY!
