The story of Central Kalimantan folklore
The legend of Bukit Batu begins with the story of a villager of the Tumbang Liting "sakti" named Burut Ules who goes to a place to open a cultivated field. Alone, he worked hard, cleared the forest, built a hut for a resting place.
One day, on a hot day by the sun but accompanied by a downpour of rain, Burut Ules is resting to unwind, suddenly startled by the arrival of seven beautiful nymphs that descend from the sky directly to the lake not far from the resting place. Burut Ules curiously approaches the lake, sneaking around to find out what is happening on the lake.
Apparently the angels were showering with a happy laugh. Burut Ules was astonished, his eyes fixed on one of the youngest gazes amongst the angels, his movement made the charm of Burut Ules and Burut Ules falling in love.
Once satisfied bathing and swimming, they re-dress and jump into space toward the sky. Since that time Burut Ules has become restless and restless, he deeply regrets why at that time did not immediately hug his thief who was wearing his clothes after bathing, but the distance between them is not far away.
One day, when the sun shines and rain falls, realizing the "strange" weather is the sign of falling angels to bathe, then Burut Ules rushes into the bushes waiting and observing the lake where his dream is bathed. The effort and waiting were not in vain, not long afterwards in the sky the opening entourage flew swooping toward the lake.
Seventh nymph happily dove into the lake, bathing while swimming, full of laughter. But as they climb up to dress, that's when Burut Ules suddenly appears between them and immediately embraces the youngest angel, his idol. There was panic, the other angels hurriedly dressed in their clothes and then immediately flew to the sky leaving the younger brother in fear in Burut Ules tight hug.
Burut Ules finally marries an angel in his heart. Long story short, Burut Ules wife is pregnant and the boy who was born (whose name can not be mentioned in this paper because it requires special permission and certain rituals). Burut Ules lives happily with his children and his wife.
Some time later, a young man came to visit the Burut Ules residence. Burut Ules wife introduced to her husband that the young man was one of his siblings who came to visit them. Burut Ules accepted the young man's presence well, even the young man was allowed to stay at his home.
However, over time Burut Ules feels suspicious because every bath in the lake, they always go together. Their baby was left in the hut. Jealousy begins to emerge, but when Burut Ules asks that, his wife always gives the same answer, that the young man is indeed his brother.
Finally Burut Ules can not bear to see the behavior of his wife who often bathe with a man who claimed to be a brother, and Burut Ules also killed the man. Burut Ules stabbed the big black man with a spear to death but his body vanished instantly.
When Burut Ules comes home, he finds his wife standing in a hejan (ladder) holding his only son. When he sees Burut Ules coming, in a sad tone his wife says that he is very sad and disappointed because her husband no longer trusts him and even kills his brother. Therefore he was determined to return home with their son.
Before leaving, he still had time to tell his wife that in the future when Burut Ules descendants need their help, their only child will always be ready to help. It is also said that sometime when their child has grown, he can not live and live in the realm where his mother is because his father and his mother come from different realms. Therefore when their child has grown, he will return to his father's kingdom. Having said so children and mothers disappear from the eyes of Burut Ules leaving deep regret and sadness in Burut Ules's heart.
Sense then useless. Burut Ules tries to rise from his sadness. Self absorbed forget his sorrow by working in the fields, catching fish, and other activities. Time passes, little by little Burut Ules able to rise back from the sadness left by his wife and child. Then marry him with Kutat's child. From this marriage was born two children, a man and a woman.
One day in Derep Bay, Tumbang Kasongan, there was a deafening sound of lightning. Lightning strikes. At that time a large rock was lowered from the sky, it was believed that the son of Burut Ules who had gone with his first wife, had grown up. As promised, when he grows he will return to the realm where his father lives, then the promise has been fulfilled. The stone that comes from the sky which came to be known as Bukit Batu is believed to be his residence, though not visible to the physical eye, but he is there as King and ruler of the area. By local residents, until now Burut Ules is believed not to die but move into an unseen world.
That is the story of people who are told generations, may be useful.
